Less than four miles up the road in Vernon, NJ, the award-winning Black Creek Historical Site commemorates the Nanticoke Leni-Lenape tribe settlement here. Revered to this day by Native Americans and extensively researched, this site has been continuously inhabited for up to 10,000 years.

Follow the walking trail to the outdoor classroom. For history buffs, many recovered artifacts are on display at the Vernon Township Historical Society Museum.

Walkers, hikers and cyclists can enjoy many local walking paths, hiking trails bicycle paths and scenic byways. Boaters, kayakers, stand-up paddle boarders and fishing enthusiasts have dozens of nearby waterways and lakes to explore.
